Resumiré mi experiencia de comprar un GPS Garmin Etrex 32x con HWID 3445 hace una semana.
Este modelo parece ser una evolución del Etrex 30 y Etrex 30x, pero tiene 8 GB de memoria interna.
Quiero mencionar que parcheé un Etrex 20. También tengo un Forerunner 250 y un Fenix 3 sin parches y tengo algo de experiencia en esta área, aunque no soy un especialista.
Otro hecho extraño es que la versión 32x es 50 euros más barata que la versión anterior 30x, que solo tiene 4 GB de almacenamiento interno en lugar de 8 GB. Por qué
Lo primero que me llamó la atención es que solo admite pistas en la memoria interna y no en la tarjeta SD. Este aspecto ha sido confirmado por Garmin.
Lo que me pareció extraño fue que los títulos se eliminaron de la tarjeta SD sin permiso: desaparecen. Esto puede ser un problema porque al cargar una pista dañada en la memoria interna, el GPS puede estar desactivado y no puede acceder a él a través de USB para eliminarlo. ¿Deberíamos llevarlo al servicio técnico?
En teoría, GPS CITY NAVIGATOR debería abrir las tarjetas NT (no NTU) parcheando porque tiene MSV: Débil:
Modelo: eTrex 22x / 32x | HWID: 3445 | SWVS: 250 | MAPA: Sí | GMA: sí | MSV: Débil | GVS: ---.
Abra estas tarjetas, pero su tamaño no debe superar los 200 MB. Lo mismo se aplica a los mapas topográficos gratuitos. Ocasionalmente, se cargan mapas topográficos o NT gratuitos más grandes (400 MB), pero no sé en qué circunstancias.
Siempre me refiero a usar la tarjeta SD externa para instalar dichas tarjetas.
El procedimiento de instalación se realizó con MAPINSTALL 4.0.4 (no con la última versión porque había problemas como BaseCamp. Utilizo la versión 4.6.2) en un GPS virtual (Pendrive) y luego copié la imagen del mapa en la SD (lo tendría directamente con el SD, creo).
Parchee el dispositivo copiando el archivo .gcd de esta página en la carpeta Garmin en el almacenamiento interno:

El firmware parecía haber sido actualizado, cargado y actualizado, pero para mi sorpresa, volvió al firmware original. Concluyo que el GPS todavía no tiene mapas NTU o JNX abiertos y continúa mostrando la versión 2.50 en "Información".

Dijo que las unidades habían cifrado el firmware desde 2019 y no podían ser parcheadas. Aunque el Etrex 32x debería representar teóricamente una mejora en el Etrex 30x.
Tal vez hubiera funcionado con WebUpdater o copiando los mapas a la memoria interna del GPS, como fue el caso con las pistas, pero ¿para qué sirve la tarjeta SD?
Mi teoría es que Garmin ha cambiado el firmware de las nuevas unidades, por lo que las vende más baratas porque espera recuperar su dinero con el mapeo.
Estoy principalmente interesado en los mapas JNX porque creo mis propios mapas y este formato hace que sea mucho más fácil de usar en Garmin.
No entiendo por qué Garmin quiere cobrar por usar este formato. Sería como si Microsoft estuviera cobrando por usar dispositivos formateados en NTFS en lugar de FAT32 (sé que no es lo mismo, es solo un ejemplo).
Agradecería la información de un Etrex 32x recientemente comprado para parchar e instalar tarjetas JNX o City Navigator NT / NTU
Por el momento, me parece más interesante usar un teléfono inteligente con el APK ORUXMAPS (gratis en el sitio web). Permite muchos formatos de tarjeta y también los descarga en línea.

I will summarize my experience buying a Garmin Etrex 32x GPS with HWID 3445 a week ago.
This model seems an evolution of the Etrex 30 and the Etrex 30x but with 8 GB of internal memory.
I want to mention that I have an Etrex 20 patched. I also have a Forerunner 250 and a Fenix 3 without patching and I have some experience in the field although I am not a specialist.
Another curious fact is that the 32x version is 50 euros cheaper than the old 30x that only has 4 GB of internal memory instead of 8 GB. Why?
The first thing that caught my attention is that it only supports tracks in the internal memory and not on the SD card. This aspect was confirmed by Garmin.
What seemed strange to me is that it deletes the tracks from the SD card without requesting permission: they disappear. This can be a problem because if you load a corrupt track in the internal memory it may be that the GPS is disabled and you cannot access via USB to erase it. Should we take it to the technical service?
In theory, GPS should open CITY NAVIGATOR NT maps (not NTU) by patching them because it has MSV: Weak:

Indeed, open those maps but their size cannot exceed 200 Mb. The same happens with free topographic maps. Occasionally, it loads larger free NT or topographic maps (400 Mb) but I don't know in what circumstances.
I always mean using the external SD card to install such maps.
The installation procedure has been with MAPINSTALL 4.0.4 (not with the latest version because it gave problems, like BaseCamp. I use v 4.6.2) in a virtual GPS (pendrive) and then copy the map image to the SD (I could have done it directly to the SD I guess).
Patch the device by copying the .gcd file on this page to the Garmin folder of the internal memory:

It seemed that the firmware was updated, loaded and updated but, to my surprise, it returned to the original firmware. I deduce this because the GPS still did not open NTU or JNX maps and kept showing version 2.50 in “About”.

He said the units as of 2019 had the firmware encrypted and could not be patched. Although in theory the Etrex 32x should be able to be an improvement of the Etrex 30x.
Maybe it would have worked using WebUpdater, or by copying the maps into the internal GPS memory as was the case with the tracks, but then what is the SD card for?
My theory is that Garmin has modified the firmware of the new units, which is why he sells them cheaper because he hopes to recover his money with the mapping.

For now, I find it more interesting to use a smartphone with the ORUXMAPS APK (free on its website). It allows many map formats and download them online too.

Ich möchte meine neuen Erfahrungen kommentieren. Ich hatte die Gelegenheit, einen Etrex 30x und einen Etrex 32x zu patchen, und ich hatte kein Problem. Ich habe die Original-Firmware von Perrys Seite heruntergeladen und die beiden Programme angewendet, um JNX (UNIVERSAL FIRMWARE PACHER 380) und City Navigator NTU (IMGPATCHER 220, neueste Version Januar 2020) auf die heruntergeladene Firmware zu entsperren, unabhängig von der Reihenfolge, und alles hat funktioniert perfekt. NT-Karten müssen kein GPS entsperren, nur die Karte mit GIMGUNLOCK v.0.04.
Ich glaube, mein erstes Etrex 32x-Gerät war defekt.
Ich bin auch zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass der Etrex 32x mit einem 8-GB-internen Speicher voller Garmin-Karten keine neuen großen Karten verarbeiten kann. Wenn Sie Ihre eigenen Karten hinzufügen möchten, müssen Sie einige von Garmin entfernen. Ich habe auch überprüft, dass die Karten problemlos gelöscht und neu installiert werden können oder die Karten auf die microSD übertragen werden können.

I want to comment on my new experiences. I have had the opportunity to patch an Etrex 30x and an Etrex 32x and I have not had any problem. I downloaded the original firmware from Perry's page and applied the two programs to unlock the JNX (UNIVERSAL FIRMWARE PACHER 380) and the City Navigator NTU (IMGPATCHER 220 latest version January 2020) to the downloaded firmware, no matter the order, and everything worked perfectly. NT Maps do not need to unlock GPS, only the map with GIMGUNLOCK v.0.04.
I believe my first Etrex 32x unit was defective.
I have also concluded that the Etrex 32x having an 8 Gb internal memory full of Garmin maps cannot handle new large maps. If you want to add your own maps you have to remove some of Garmin. I have also verified that the maps can be deleted and reinstalled without problem or the maps can be transferred to the microSD.

Tut mir total leid und ich weiß dass es bestimmt irgendwo steht aber ich finde es nicht.
Wie ist denn das PW zum entpacken der Tools (FW patcher etc..) im Toolsbereich ???

Ich habe mir ein etrex 30 gebraucht gekauft. Firmware ist 4.30. Ich habe die Top 9 map unlocked und auf das gerät kopiert. Karte wird wohl erkannt, steht jetzt jedenfalls drin und ist aktiv.
Muß ich jetzt noch was machen, von wegen Authentifizierung von Unicode Karten, oder Firmware patchen?

Naja bei MSV Kopierschutz stehts mit drin und da steht das auch mit diesen Unicode. Ich bin verwirrt.

Du kannst doch der Geräteübersicht entnehmen das die alten Geräte vor 2014 nicht betroffen sind, also auch keine MSV Kopierschutz haben.
Da steht auch kein eTrex 30 mit drin, sonder nur die neueren Touch und X-Serien.

Der ganze Thread hier, wie bereits im Post #398 beantwortet, ist für Dich damit überflüssig.

Ich habe eine einfache höffliche frage gestellt, die man mit einen einfachen Nein beantworten hätte können.
Nein da steh kein etrex drin, nein tut es nicht. Weiß ich was 3.x ist.

Nach dem patchen bleibt mein Gpsmap66 stehen auf SOFTWARE LOADING und geht nicht weiter. Bisher hatte da patchen immer geklappt. Wer kann mir weiter helfen

Hallo zusammen.
ich habe versucht bei meinem CarminDrive51 die Firmware nach der vorgegebenen Einleitung zu Patchen.
Beim letzten Schritt bei der Updater.exe wurde es mit "ok" bestätigt und nach 2 Sekunden hat sich mein PC aufgehängt, siehe Bild.

Du musst Regestriert sein, um das angehängte Bild zusehen.

Seit dem schaltet sich mein Navi nicht mehr ein und über den PC kann auch keine Verbindung hergestellt werden.
So wie es aussieht wurde der CarminDrive51 zerstört.

Meine Frage wäre, gibt es eine Möglichkeit es wieder zu beleben bzw. mit PC zu verbinden?

Die Seite von Perry für das Firmware Archiv funktioniert leider nicht mehr und ist wohl umgezogen, hat Jemand einen funktionierenden Link wo man die aktuelle Firmware für das GPSMAP 66s, und Etrex 22x herunterladen kann ?
